Called here on a Saturday evening without a reservation and were asked to return a little later which suited us better anyway.. …Arrived to be seated in the little bar area and perused the menu while our jackets were took to a cloak area….
We didn’t wait to long and we were escorted to a seat in a pleasant room and we both ordered Scallop starters and rack of lamb for the main course which came with seasonal veg…both were delicious and cooked just how we wanted them (a little longer for hubbys lamb) Think the server was called Denis and he was really good and helpful…the bill came to £63 with a couple of drinks so were left feeling very happy bunnies.
Four of us are here and we all really enjoyed the food. Perfectly cooked and very tasty. Portions were just right. The beer and wine were also very good Service was efficient but we weren’t hurried, and friendly.
Stayed overnight on the way to Edinburgh by rail. Hotel on a quiet street a few minutes walk from the town centre. Friendly and helpful staff, pleasant dining area and bar. Lovely comfortable clean bedroom. Decided to have our evening
meal in the hotel, glad we did it was delicious as was the Breakfast the next morning, and a quirky pub just round the corner to nip out to The Three Barrels for a Northern Lights beer, very nice thankyou.
Parked outside hotel and went in to ask if any rooms were available. we were shown to our room by the owner, they were clean and cosy and really well finished with great bathrooms/showers. the evening meal was excellent as was the service. The evening meal was matched with the breakfast which was superb.I would not look at staying anywhere else than The Queens Head
Cycling the Coast and Castles route and arrived in Berwick without booking anywhere in advance. Came across this jewel of a hotel and luckily they had some vacancies. Great rooms, very friendly staff, lovely little bar and the best dinner of the trip so far. This hotel is a must if you stay in Berwick.
Superb food with great flavours served by excellent guy and girls at the right pace. Could not be bettered. We will be back.
Berwick was cold this spring and the Queens Head Hotel was an oasis of warmth, hospitality and good food for dinner on subsequent nights.
Mains of grilled salmon ,pan fried scallops and venison loins were all competently cooked and the menu emphasised local suppliers. Wine was available by the glass and reasonably priced
We would be happy to return for a third time!
Very friendly, efficient staff greeted us on arrival. After ordering in the bar area we were shown to our table in the restaurant. Our meals were cooked to order and were both excellent. My choice was the duck followed by a Yorkshire rhubarb cranachan, my husband had the hake followed by baked lemon cheesecake. We would not hesitate to recommend the Queens Head and will dine here again when next visiting Berwick.
