“Great find”

This hotel is a little tucked away and it would be easy to walk past. Bustling it ain’t but if you are looking for great food then do give it a try. We stopped for lunch and there was a good range of choices – I was blown away by the quality of the day’s curry – beautifully spiced, not too hot – made by a real chef. Other dishes looked fab too.

Was taken to the Queens Head recently for a meal and I was not disappointed. The food was very good as was the service. All in all a very enjoyable evening.

We loved our experience at the Queens Head, both the accomodations and the dining. Our host Garry worked very hard to make everything comfortable (and delicious).

Food was well presented and of very good quality. Service was very personal even though large birthday parties were taking place we did no feel we were forgotten

“Lovely warm welcome”

We really enjoyed our lunch here last week, despite turning up just as the kitchen was closing they managed to squeeze us in which was very appreciated. Staff were very friendly and the food delicious.

“Fish and Chips with an Excellent Ale”

Popped in here for lunch on a Saturday with a couple of mates, greeted immediately and offered drinks while a table was prepared. Battered cod out of this world – beautiful fish. Washed down with some lovely local ale and fantastic table service. I would definitely eat here again.

“Don’t do reviews, but…..”

I’ve had the pleasure of staying in some good and not so good hotels over the years, mostly for work. For the family-run places, it never ceases to amaze the effort that must go into making it a success – so many people, so many different tastes, day in day out. Never done a review before, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stop over at the Queens Head and promised to make an effort myself in recommending! Very friendly, great food, lovely room with various extra touches, all at a sensible price. .

“Christmas menu lunch”

Friendly staff nice atmosphere. I had Duck and my husband the chowder for starters both very nice. For mains we had Belly Pork and Sirloin steak accompanied by lovely roast potatoes and parsnips with sprouts and carrots. Generous portions unlike some restaurants. Would recommend.
