Arrived on a Thursday Evening and was really surprised how busy the restaurant was in fact it was packed.
The food was to die for.
The ladies has steak they both said it was the best they had ever had.
The service from start to finish was the best.
I must say the whole meal for the four of us was wonderful.
This is a 5 star restaurant .
Will be back
My husband and I were on holiday for a long weekend with our retired guide dog. The landlady at our B&B, Caroline House, in Spittal recommended The Queens Head. We were so glad we took her advice! The food was delicious, the service impeccable, the staff charming to both us and our dog. Yes a dog friendly restaurant with fabulous food! In fact The Queens Head was so good we returned every night of our holiday and on each occasion were treated with the same excellent service and fabulous food. Would we recommend? Would we return? Most definitely!
I have nothing but positive comments for the Queens Head. We had a table of 12, they formed a nice T shaped table which meant we could all chat. Water ready on the table, lovely menu and we could find plenty of things we fancied. The food was excellent and was good value for money. All our meals came out together which is no mean feat for 12 people. The service was superb, very friendly and efficient. Fantastic experience thank you to all at the Queens Head.
My wife and I recently visited the Queen’s Head for lunch. We don’t live in the area but had been there previously and always enjoyed the food & ambience. On this occasion, a rather unpropitious October Monday, we were warmly greeted by the front of house, whose name we failed to get, but she was so friendly and attentive we definitely should have done so in order to give her a mention by name. The menu was good and our food excellent and inexpensive, and complimented by the perfect timing of the arrival of each course. A must if you are in Berwick or its environ.
My wife and I ate here last Saturday and enjoyed the most superb meal. The staff were attentive, friendly and the owners should be very proud of the team in the kitchen presenting delicious, perfectly cooked food. We both had a plate of scallops to start followed by halibut with a mussel risotto. Outstanding. I hope you enjoy the experience as much as we did. Thank you.
We decided on a last minute visit to Berwick upon Tweed to break our Jourrney home. We checked tripadvisor before going out for a meal and noted the very good reviews for the Queens Head Hotel Restaurant so decided to eat there. We were greeted warmly by a newly appointed member of staff. Indeed all of the staff turned out to be warm and friendly. The decor and the atmosphere was lovely and we enjoyed a very nice three course meal of Scallops, Fillet Steak and Banana and Ginger cake. Each of our plates were empty when removed from the table. We really enjoyed our experience there.
My wife and I enjoyed a lovely lunch here on our annual 600 miles pilgrimage to Berwick. The chicken curry was really tasty and beautifully presented, and the tiramisu was absolutely delicious. The service was top notch too. Our very friendly and extremely efficient waitress greeted us with a lovely smile, and cheerfully served our gin and tonics and coffee. The atmosphere here is very welcoming as soon as you set foot inside, and is very relaxed and informal. The food here surpassed expectations for a small restaurant, so it’s well worth the five minute walk off the high street to find it. Here’s to our next visit next year!
4 of us celebreated my wifes birthday hereand the whole afternoon was 5 star from start to finish. We all ordered different dishes, my scallops with black pudding starter was absolutely delicious, so delicious at the time I could have eaten 3 of them and no main course. Glad I didn’t because my main of sea bas fillets were TO DIE FOR.
A sticky toffee pudding and crumble to share, 2 bottles of Sauvignon Blanc and a couple of glasses of Sauternes and the VERY memorable birthday celebration was complete.
All I can say is what an awesome place, with excellent food and service to match.
Won’t be able to wait for a birthday before we visit again.
We enjoyed a superb Sunday lunch two weeks ago after a lovely walk around the historic walls of Berwick, Tender roast beef with all the trimmings and beautiful homemade fishcakes with salad. Followed by divine tiramisu and coffee, Excellent staff and service’ A great experience. Will be back in April . Many thanks
Stopped here for dinner and it was brilliant. Fillet steak one of the best I have eaten. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Visited the Queens Head for a Sunday lunch. Beginning of October out walking out 3 dogs called into the Queens Head on the off chance we could get a table were made to feel very welcome including our 3 cockapoos’s. We had a table just round to the right as you enter and can honestly say everything was great we opted for a 3 course meal with Sunday roast and enjoyed it all, service, quality and how welcome the dogs were.
Highly recommend for quality and being friendly
With be back soon
After spending the morning in Lindisfarne we looked for somewhere for a late lunch. Luckily we came across the Queens Head. Even though it was almost at the end of food service they couldn’t have been more accommodating for our large group including 2 (fussy) little ones and 2 dogs. The food was exceptional. A small menu but everything ordered was amazing and you could tell everything was home made. The chap serving was friendly and knowledgeable about not only the menu but the local area advising on places to visit etc. My only disappointment was we visited on our last day of our holiday so couldn’t visit all the recommended places or visit a second time.
From start to finish our experience at the Queens Head Hotel was very pleasurable indeed.
Gary, the owner, was extremley knowledgable on all aspects of the menu. We chose starters of Pan fried king scallops with a sun dried tomato tapanade topped with parmesan shavings and Smoked mackerel fishcakes served with honey creme fraiche both of which were delicious. The main of roasted venison served with a berry and port sauce was certainly the highlight of the evening although the pudding of rich amaretti coffee and mascapone tiramisu was like nothing I had tasted before.
On a Sunday evening in November there is no better place to enjoy top quality food with great service.
