What a find! Super food – some ‘pub classics’ such as locally sourced steak & lasagne on the menu & some very enticing special dishes… I had sea bass in a fabulously fragrant herb & citrusy butter & my husband spoilt for choice between several mains including local venison, chose a cod, octopus & prawn risotto. Ambience & decor lovely, really helpful, welcoming friendly staff & our doggies were offered water, treats & made very welcome too!

Great little restaurant in small, historic hotel in the heart of the historic old town. We were staying in Berwick for a couple of nights and booked for a Friday evening meal. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. My husband’s favourite was the garlic mushroom bruschetta starter – yum!
The room was clean and bright and had everything you needed with thoughtful additions of a fruit bowl and bottles of water. Centrally based it is ideal for all the amenities and access to the wall is a minute’s walk away. It felt a really friendly place. The breakfast was home cooked and tasted lovely.
Our first visit to the restaurant and it will not be our last. Excellent food excellent choice with excellent presentation. Really enjoyed the evening staff were attentive and friendly. Nice little bar for pre-dinner drinks.
Visited tonight for dinner, it was lovely. I passed on a starter and my husband had sweet potato and chill soup. We had a selection of bread which was lovely. I had cod with veg and my husband had haddock and chips. We were too full for a pudding. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit and good value!!!
Had the two course lunch menu, freshly caught fish, and chips could not be bettered! Visited again during our stay and not disappointed, pheasant casserole just as pleasing, tasty menu, flavours, with attentive friendly staff and service, glad we found i!t
Saturday night dinner, gorgeous food, extensive menu. It has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are great.
Excellent lunch and great service”
We called in for lunch on a cold and blustery day and were made extremely welcome. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and super efficient. The Queen’s Head was a real find and is thoroughly recommended.
This place is rated number 1 in Berwick and you can see why. Very attentive service with fabulous food. Cooked and presented to perfection. Very busy for a Sunday evening.

We liked this place, and ate there twice in a 3 night visit. Very varied menu, well presented, as always in Berwick it is friendly. We recommend it highly.
Ate here on Saturday evening. The restaurant has a lovely feel to it. We both had a fillet steak, one cooked medium and the other well done. They wer both cooked to perfection and with a lovely selection of vegetables. Excellent service throughout our visit. We will certainly be back.
“Good hearty meals”
Place is quite popular. Local fresh produce cooked pub-style, that is unpretentious. Enjoyed every dish including an obviously fresh hammock with a superb searing. Nice staff, hard-working, polite and quick. Met the owner, always aware of what is happening around. Excellent choice for a meal.
We selected this restaurant on a whim one evening in Berwick and they managed to accommodate us even although we had not made a reservation. The menu contained a wide variety of dishes made from locally sourced produce. Delicious seafood pie and pasta were our choices for the evening.
The staff were really pleasant and made for wonderful evening.
First visit to the beautiful town of Berwick on Tweed. Not disappointed with the lovely eatery we found either. Absolutely beautiful food, fab service and atmosphere. The owner said my husband wouldn’t need a steak knife to eat his steak!!! he wasn’t wrong, as the steak just melted when cut, best steak ever.
